The Warm Springs Economic Development Corporation (dba Warm Springs Ventures) is pleased to announce the hiring of James “Jim” Souers as their new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Souers is a 1979 graduate of Madras High School, a graduate of Oregon State University, with an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (Chicago, Illinois).

Jim is a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. He grew up on the Warm Springs reservation and feels a deep attachment to the people and land of the tribes. His wife Mary is also a graduate of Madras High School, his father Dick worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Warm Springs, and his mother Dot worked for the Warm Springs Elementary School.

He brings a wealth of diverse executive level experience. Over the past 30 years he’s been involved in several successful entrepreneurial startups as well as being an early venture investor. He has formed a worldwide network throughout the business community, has experience in working with Fortune 500 companies, governments, universities, and has managed US and international operations.

Throughout his career, Jim continued to follow the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and is looking forward to helping the community he calls home.
